Morgan Geist plays the Twisted Pepper this Saturday Night. The New Yorker first sprung onto the scene in the mid 90s, turning heads with partner in crime Darshan Jesrani. The duo’s Metro Area project prospered in the disco world and the quality and accessibility of their tracks helped them to garner more widespread affection in the industry. A particular highlight for the pair was having Resident Advisor name their tune “Miura” No.1 track of the 00s.
With the success of Metro Area in the bag, Geist launched solo project Storm Queen, an alias rendered commercially famous in the last year by Marc Kinchin’s club-ready remix of ‘Look Right Through’. Under the moniker, he has released what we deem some of the finest modern disco currently on offer while simultaneously benefitting from the genre’s renaissance. Producing and Djing for nearly two decades now, it’s fair to say that the man is a master of the trade and with his penchant for feel-good dance music, we’ve marked this one down as unmissable.
