Irishman Ian O’Donovan closes out an impressive year with an appearance on Amsterdam label Loveland Recordings. Renowned for its legendary Summer festival, the revamped imprint has taken little time to make its mark. With tracks from the likes of Anthony Rother and Matthew Jonson under their arm, the Dutchmen have turned once more to Ian O’Donovan to do his thing. The Limerick producer brought his powerful tech blend to Loveland’s 2015 edition a few short months ago, while his works have been in the crosshairs of the label since Adam Beyer closed his 2014 set at the festival with ‘Vortex’, the title track on the release.
The EP, which follows releases on Beyer’s Drumcode and Carl Cox’s Intec earlier this year, offers four heavy-hitting techno cuts with that distinct IOD melodic touch. Today, exclusively via When We Dip, can you check out “Undercurrent” in its entirety. The track commences with a lonesome beat, which is soon accompanied by a razor sharp arpeggiator. The all-consuming low element and the crashing ride cymbals peak the production’s intensity as it drives forth in a near eight minute trip to techno bliss.
The release date is set for November 30th, 2015 (vinyl & digital).
