With the Project Arts “Project 50 Season” well under way, WWD are getting really excited for this year’s Live Collision International Festival, set to take place at the end of this month in Dublin. The programme has yet to be announced but we have no doubt it will be full of surprises.

The company, headed by creative producer Lynette Moran, is leading the way in live art performance in Ireland. Invited artists are asked to create and perform pieces that challenge our perception of art and make us question our reality, our relationships and our engagement with the world around us.

Although audiences are small, and spaces intimate, WWD are big fans when we’re looking to see something new in Dublin City. This upcoming art festival isn’t one for mass appeal, but instead to start conversation.

Some previous works from earlier festivals include, “Walking: Holding” (2013) from Rosana Cade. The premise of the show was simply a walk through Dublin city. One by one audience members were lead through the city streets holding onto the hand of a stranger, maybe an old woman, maybe a hooded youth or maybe a drag queen.

2015 saw “Unaccompanied” by Ciara McKeon in which audience members were taken on board a Dublin bus for an audio performance, as well as performances from Dickie Beau and Robbie Blake. Each festival has offered something different, and this year certainly won’t disappoint.

If you’re looking for something new and innovative (and inexpensive!) in the coming weeks, make sure to check out the festival, taking place 30th November- 4th December.

You can check out more details on the company here.
