Ireland’s finest, Matador is in for an ambitious 2017. RUKUS, his imprint, originally intended for Dublin’s live artist productions only, is officially expanding its range of artists. To kick off this new age in great style, he opens doors for Brazilian Techno exponent ANNA who delivers two outstanding original cuts that come next to an incredible remix each. Coming out this week, on April 14^th.

Having shown nothing but pure talent so far, and collected the approvals of rescpectful labels, such as Turbo Recordings, DIYNAMIC, Tronic and Terminal M, she returns to RUKUS, after previously scoring a remix of Matador’s ‘Stanleys’, with the brilliant ‘Haze Moon’ and the label boss retributes with an equally brilliant remix.

When We Dip listened to this gem, and we now share some of our impressions.

Since its very beginning, a heavy bass melody walks in followed by some gentle percussion elements. In this moody style, the track evolves into a nice groove as the clap hits and a moony atmosphere grows slowly in the background, suddenly taking control of the feelings. A moderate tension hangs in the air, intensifying during the breakdown rising until those long bass notes retake control. In its whole extension we notice colorful synth patterns that run through the arrangement. Certainly a pliant tune that will do fine in a host of different occasions, from chilling out to uplifting ones. It’s no coincidence it’s been supported by the don Pete Tong.

Minimal techno pioneer Marc Houle is also on board, delievering a dingy remix for the B-side tune ‘Far Beyond’. You can check it out below.

This EP certainly is a testament to ANNA’s dexterity for creating consistent quality whilst exhibiting her versatility as a producer, and the remixers are definitely up to it.

A dancefloor-ready release to join a prolific back catalogue of labels and EPs already under her belt.
