‘Neon’, originally released on Anthony Rother’s Datapunk in 2006, was a monumental cut. Championed by Sven Väth, it was the track that ultimately cemented Gregor Tresher’s status as a major player in the techno game. It represented a trademark sound that helped shape his future. This year the original recording has been carefully remastered by Gregor Zemljic in Ljubljiana, bringing the track back to the forefront of the scene in a crisp refresh.
On the flip side it comes strapped a remix from another notorious heavyweight, a man with little need for introduction: Butch. His version, long-awaiting release, utilises the melodies of the original track and brings a distinct housey feel to the composition. Originally created nearly ten years ago, when Butch shared his version with Gregor, a little over a year ago, it actually established the idea of a re-release. We are happy to announce it’s all available March 5! Listen to Butch’s lethal rework in full premiere below.
