UK Techno duo OC & Verde comprises of Ben & Jon, two friends from Manchester who have released on such heavyweight labels like Truesoul, Filth On Acid, Rukus, Bedrock, Octopus & Suara. With their most recent EP on Truesoul ‘Cloak & Dagger’ still rising the charts, we asked them each to tell us some things at home that are important to them and why…

Ben – OC & Verde

This is a picture of me and my niece Holly that a special one for me as she’s the newest member of the OC family and she’s just super cute. 

This is the first Technical 1210 turntable I bought when I was 15 years old, it’s still in mint condition, it’s my pride and joy and could never bring myself to sell it when we went digital. 

This is a bit geeky but I’m one of the biggest Sopranos fans out there, I’ve watched every episode over 100 times, could pretty much say the full script word for word. Best TV show ever made. 

This is a gold ring that was left to me by my Grandad Erick when he passed
away. I never take this off, it’s kind of a good luck charm for me. 

These are my favourite toys, my Jon Olsson Pro Model ski’s. Been skiing since I was young, it’s my favourite sport to do but unfortunately don’t get to do it as much as I would like, plus I broke my hip on my last outing on these which is no good for touring haha. 

Jon – OC & Verde

1, Family. Because we’re away so often, my family is the most important thing in my house. It’s what makes it a home. So seeing my daughter’s little face when i get back from any gig or tour is the best thing to get home to. Usually looks a bit like this 🙂

2. Studio. This is based at my house in the garage. After my family it’s definitely the most important thing at my house and where hours and days of my life are spent. Not always successfully but thats why I put a sofa in there for those times haha.

3. Trainers. Always loved fashion, shoes and trainers. It’s becoming a bit of a problem as of late so I had to build a trainer stand in my wardrobe. I actually have more shoes than my wife. A proud and manly moment 🙂

4. My Happy Place. This is where I fully unwind and relax, in the summer stick the xbox on and get beat at Fifa (because I’m not that good) and in winter a good fire. Nothing beats chilling out in your home and on your on sofa.

5. The View. We live about 20 minutes from Manchester but its very rural and theres loads of hills and valleys you can walk around. When we’re been aways in busy airports, cities and loud clubs, this is the perfect anecdote to that. You can be in the city again in 20 minutes or completely cut yourself off from the outside world.
