London’s minimal scene wouldn’t be what it is today without Picnic. The resident party starters have been hosting events across the capital for years, locating hidden-gem locations as they go. Forgotten woodlands, untouched parks and major club venues have all played host to them in recent times. Now, the crew get set for another summertime takeover, teaming up with mental health charity Chasing The Stigma on the one-day Someplace, Somewhere, set to take place at Hainault Forest Country Park on the 17th of July.
Anyone who’s been to a Picnic party will be familiar with the community spirit that runs through their events. Familiar faces, friends of old and new – it’s what creates the signature Picnic atmosphere. Such an ethos acts as the main focus of this year’s Someplace, Somewhere, with the London crew inviting grassroots creatives and independent businesses to join them on the day. They’ll have an opportunity to showcase their work, connect with like-minded people and have a right old dance in the process.
Speaking of which… who’s in charge of soundtracking the day’s antics? As expected – they’ve enlisted a smorgasbord of minimal’s finest. Co-founder Andy Luff, Pickle-regulars Hamish & Toby, Berlin-mainstay Sugar Free, the Slow life crew, Dimensions’ Christian AB… and we’re yet to mention Francesco Del Garda. Cracking stuff all around.
Someplace, Somewhere is an arts and culture music event taking place at Hainault Forest Country Park on Saturday, 17th July. For all information, visit their website here.
