That voice message that every discerning DJ has received at some point in their career:

“Hey! What’s the name of this track? I don’t know the artist, or what kind of instrument it is, but the drop goes like this—du du, du du dum, du du, du du dum, du du, du du dum, du du du dudumdududum.”

For Trunkfunk boss NIBC, this wasn’t just another request – it was inspiration. With a playful nod to a velvety green classic and a throwback to the pre-Shazam, pre-social media days of underground electronic music, he got to work. The result? A fresh, tribal house weapon primed to dominate global dancefloors in the months ahead.

One of NIBC’s biggest creative heroes may have also played an indirect role:

“A close friend of mine (Jonas Rathsman) mentioned that the harmonies reminded him of Twin Peaks and David Lynch, which I also think is a fitting reference. Lynch has always been a huge influence on me, and I love the eerie, dreamlike atmosphere his work evokes.”

And this release doesn’t just peak twice – it delivers across the board. Alongside an original mix and a relentless Dub version, NIBC has enlisted two of his favourite artists on remix duties.

Fort Romeau leans into the melody, crafting a hypnotic, percussive take that drifts through spine-tingling moments, while Radio Slave closes the release with an epic rework that sees him juicing the drums, working the synths and turning up the tribal energy to towering heights.

A package built for the club. A track destined for the memory bank. Let the voice notes roll in.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Fort Romeau’s ‘Track ID’ remix, exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
