REFRACTION celebrate its first anniversary with a milestone release: the label’s very first vinyl record. Label founder Pedro Capelossi teams up with the talented and knowledgeable Francesco Mami to present the ‘Lajka’ EP, featuring three captivating original tracks. Adding to the EP’s uniqueness, remixes are delivered by renowned dub master Mathimidori and Brazil’s rising star, Chiari.

This distinctive and innovative project was crafted by Pedro and Francesco in his studio in Italy, seamlessly blending their individual styles to create something truly special.

‘Lajka‘ kicks off the EP with a hybrid and highly original piece of music. Distorted chords, percussive rhythms, an irresistible drive, and epic moments all come together to define this standout track.

The second track ‘Kota’ delivers a powerful dub techno banger. Robust chords and a fantastic atmosphere combine with a rich, full-bodied groove to create an unforgettable experience.

‘Lajkinha’ serves as the grand finale. True to its name, originality takes centre stage here. This groovy deep house track is highlighted by a mesmerizing bass solo that could keep you captivated for hours.

Mathimidori, the downtempo and dub alias of Mathias Kaden, adds his signature touch to the EP. His interpretation of ‘Lajka’ is a relaxed and dub-infused version, featuring beautiful vocal snippets, intricate moving chords, and a sublime dub groove that perfectly complements the track’s essence.

Chiari once again proves his prowess as an exceptional producer with his remix of ‘Lajka.’ The Brazilian talent delivers a fantastic deep tech rework, seamlessly blending groove and energy to create a track that’s destined to ignite dance floors.
