Solomun returns with ‘Love Recycled 4,’ the next installment in the series he launched in 2011 to reimagine the classics that defined modern club culture. This time he’s resurrected ‘Angel In My Pocket,’ the sultry 1980s disco gem by Change, and rebuilt it from the ground up into a track that’s as at home in sunlit day sets as it is in late-night clubs. Now that Love Recycled has grown into its own label, its vision reaches far beyond Solomun alone: a wave of world-class artists will join the journey, unearthing forgotten gems and reimagining them not by imitation but by infusing each track with heart, innovation and true dance-floor spirit.
Solomun strips the original down to its emotive vocal refrain and rolling bassline before rebuilding it from the inside out. He layers in percussion such as congas played by hand and crisp electronic kick patterns alongside rim shots in the Balearic style. Lush string motifs drawn from the original orchestral flourishes glide over modern synth pads.
At the heart of Solomun’s Love Recycled series lies his profound respect for songwriting and musical heritage. With each edition he treats the original track as an archive to be carefully dismantled, isolating its most evocative hooks, grooves and textures, and then reconstructing them with exacting care and creative vision. The outcome goes beyond a simple remix and emerges as a fully realized work that honors its source while forging a new path.
Love Recycled 4 arrives on June 27, 2025 via the Love Recycled label and will be available across all digital and streaming platforms. Discover Solomun’s reimagined classic on your favorite service.
