This Saturday Opium Rooms hosts the Canadian born, DJ, producer and presenter, B.Traits.
Only a sleep between laying down house and techno beats from the BBC Radio 1 studio, she will bring her eclectic UK sound to Dublin for some Saturday night adventures.
Having had the pleasure interviewing her at the Oasis Festival she performed at late last year, WWD are already noted fans of her ever evolving sound. Never one to be classified by any one genre her sets feature mixture of influences from the worlds of techno, drum and bass and jungle. The perfect ingredients for a successful show in Dublin this weekend.
On Saturday night you will see her taking the stage by storm. But by day she is one of the leading faces on drug safety in club culture. After she hosted BBC 3’s ‘How Safe Are My Drugs?’ she’s led conferences in the London Electronic Arts Festival and the Ibiza Music Summit. She certainly puts the ‘e’ into Education.
B.Traits also started her own label late last year, in.toto. Since then we’ve seen her versatility in production blossom. Upon her new endeavours she produced the beautifully atmospheric, Still Point EP. Jump forward four months and we have the preview of the Basic Scenario EP which has a serious techno injection, no complaints there. On top of her originals, she also has a now infamous edit of, ‘What’s A Girl To Do?’, in her locker, a record that is guaranteed to ignite the crowd into a state of bliss. There is no doubt that these tracks will be nothing short of a spectacle in the mix this Saturday.
Allied to the visit of B.Traits, When We Dip will be hosting our monthly showcase in the Garden, dovetailing nicely with what is sure to be a large crowd in attendance!
