All Points East: A New Festival for London

There’s a new kid on the block in London’s festival circuit, one who’ll be making its home in London’s Victoria Park on Friday the 25th of May, for three days of musical delights. All Points East has been announced, and with such a carefully curated lineup, it’s looking like a true festival for music lovers.

Fronting the bill Friday is none other than acclaimed musical group LCD Soundsystem, whose tasty blend of electric beats and instruments never fails to lead to a special performance. Joining them will be M-nus founder Richie Hawtin, alongside RA favourite Dixon, and the UK’s very own George Fitzgerald will be performing live. We’d say that’s an excellent way to kick things off.

Come Saturday and Jamie XX’s musical entourage The XX will be headlining proceedings, joined by British singer songwriters Sampha and Lorde. Jamaican DJ and all-round good character Popcaan will also be in attendance, so if live music is up your street then Saturday is for you.

Once the two days before it have been and gone, Sunday the 28th will be the closing ceremony. But fear not, as organisers have pulled in a lineup to keep you going right to the very end. One of Iceland’s most respected and talented DJs will be headlining things, as Bjork takes centre stage. With her will be all round experimentalist Flying Lotus, and France’s house and techno powerhouse Agoria.

And so far that’s all she wrote! With a first release of artists such as these, it’s clear to see that this isn’t just another generic London festival appealing to the masses. It’s carefully curated, one that features some real powerhouses from a range of genres, and one that simply can’t be pigeonholed. All Points East: we look forward to seeing you in May!

All Points East festival lands in london’s Victoria Park from May 25th to May 27th. Grab tickets here.
