Dee Montero is next up on the ever reliant music tastemakers that are Do Not Sit on the Furniture. Montero is a UK artist with an international profile. He is a former resident at Cafe Mambo for eight years and has some serious skills in the DJ booth. His productions skills are renowned and revered too, with recent releases on the likes of Lee Burridge’s Tale & Tones, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound and Solomun’s Diynamic, where his ‘Halcyon’ track spent 5 weeks at #1 on Beatport, and was Pete Tong’s #1 Track of 2017. Here he goes deep and emotional on his four latest and great tracks.

‘Chakra’ opens up with spine tingling xylophones dancing over rubbery, rolling grooves. It’s a late night cut with a real sense of musical spirit that burrows deep into your brain. ‘Ventura’ then picks up the pace but stays just as seductive, with supple kicks and more busy but enchanting new age melodies floating up top next to draped piano chords that are full of feeling. ‘Bahia’ then traps you in a trance, with more sustained pads and chanting vocals that are utterly uplifting. It’s a magical cut once more. Last of all, ‘Samsara’ is another hands in the air, lighters out kind of tune with dreamy pads and superbly crafted melodies that are soft and shiver inducing. This really is a classy house EP from one of the best labels in the game.
