From the Koltrax cave straight to the dancefloor – it’s time for you to embark on Kolter’s new journey with his imprint’s first installment, including the highly awaited ‘Bust A Dream’ & ‘Please Dont Call Me’.

Previously known as DJOKO, German DJ/producer Johannes Kolter opened 2023 under his artist project Kolter, with the alias bringing closer, more personal connections with it as he takes up his family name alongside a new journey and period in his own personal life. A guise already in use, Kolter has released music under the alias via Constant Sound sublabel Pilot and Robert James’ Body Movement – serving as a home for more breakbeat-leaning material and split-EPs across both aliases on HOOVE and Talman Records. The moniker will also serve as the base for his new label, Koltrax.

“From now on, I’ll be releasing music & touring under the name: Kolter. This decision stems from a desire to avoid confusion with other artists, but most importantly, to give my musical output a more personal signature and meaning by using my last name. DJOKO was my nickname during my student days, which is simply the combination of (JO)hannes & (KO)lter, my name. This transition isn’t the easiest path, but it’s the right one. Instead of focusing on the energy spent during the last decade working on developing my DJOKO alias, I choose to look at it as a positive change, a restart. I couldn’t be luckier than I am today, leaving my day job a few months ago, living solely from music, having such an incredible following and welcoming our first baby just a few weeks from now with my fabulous girlfriend. I sincerely hope you’ll stay with me during this new journey as Kolter — many things are already on the way, including a new label, Koltrax” – Johannes Kolter

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Back In Town’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
