In 10 days time the gates of Gottwood will open from the 19th-22nd June for the 5th edition of its wonderful music and arts festival in Anglesey, Wales. Unfortunately, it’s so good that it’s all sold out in advance but it’s one you should definitely keep in mind for next year’s festival season. Here’s why:
Location
Hidden amidst the Welsh woods, think LIFE Festival with the artistic side of Electric Picnic, lushness, intricate detail yet mysterious at the same time. The perfect setting for an idyllic session. Lets just hope the organisers have said their prayers and the weather Gods play their part.
Line Up
Here’s where the organisers have certainly done their bit. This year’s line up boasts an enormous wealth of talent. With a combination of big names and a plethora of talents upcoming from the undergrowth and with stages housed inside intimate tents and on decorated outdoor platforms surrounded with Funktion Ones, Gottwood is the perfect place to catch some of your favourites.
Having gone through the lineup we’ve picked out our essential selections:
- Tale of Us.
Tale Of Us are nothing short of unstoppable at the minute. The duo have aways put the effort into perfecting their productions but over the past 18 months they’ve been delivering some of the most anticipated releases and jaw dropping sets across the globe. Think atmospheric, think melodies, think big. Do not miss your chance to catch these inimitable Italians. - Max Cooper.
Having now focused his attention fully on music Max Cooper has become one of the UK’s finest electronic musicians. His innovative sound and take on music is nothing but a breath of fresh air and with a fresh debut album out in the form of Human, his show at Gottwood is highly anticipated. Plus, his live show is so highly commended it’s been voted in the Top 20 live acts in the RA Poll the past two years. You have no excuses. - Stephan Bodzin.
The Herzblut records head honcho will be in the woods to delight the crowds this year. His recent take on Super Flu’s – Jo Gurt went down a treat with us here at WWD and we’re sure it’ll do the same for the masses in 10 days time. He’s up for this one. He’s even provided a Gottwood promo mix to whet the appetite. - Avatism.
The last essential selection on our list is another extremely talented Italian, Avatism. Regularly working with the likes of Clockwork and Mind Against, the Milan man surrounds himself with good musical influences and it pays dividends. His album Adamant was released late last year and after one listen through you’ll realise the standard of productions you can expect to hear when he plays live at the festival. Here’s a taster of what to expect, his set from none other than Panorama Bar.
On top of these select few picks, there’s a enormity of other big names and local talent we’re sure won’t disappoint. There’s even our very own Lorcan Mak for good measure.
So, if you’re lucky enough to be heading along enjoy the festivities and if you’re ticketless, be sure to mark this one in your diaries for 2015, Gottwood.
