In just a few short years BPM Festival has become one of the most loved highlights of the dance calender thanks to its stellar parties and laid back ambiance. This year features a bigger than ever lineup with all manner of labels and djs bringing their showcases to the Playa Del Carmen for almost ten days of rollicking good fun. With so many parties to choose from (the list is almost endless) we thought we would weigh in with our 5 must see events.
Maeve Rave @ Fusion Beach Club
Date: Monday Jan 12th (Daytime)
Lineup: Mano Le Tough, DJ Tennis, Baikal + The Drifter
A label we’ve been watching with a keen eye over the past year. The trio of Mano Le Tough, Baikal and The Drifter have hosted a stream of parties around Europe this year steadily building the reputation of their budding moniker. With three stellar releases from Mathew Dekay, Mano and The Drifter in 2014 they have begun to mark out their own corner of the electronic world and their presence at BPM is confirmation of that. Oh and we should probably add that in Mano Le Tough they have a man behind some of the most monumental records of the past 12 months!

Toolroom Live @ Blue Parrot Day Club
Date: Jan 15th (Daytime)
Lineup: Mark Knight, Prok & Fitch, Doorly, Weiss, Adrian Hour + Thee Cool Cats
With Toolroom Records having undergone a major shift in the past few months this week’s showcase at BPM provides the perfect opportunity for the effects of #Reset to be seen for all. The good news for all is that despite their changes Toolroom has continued it’s ever reliable stream of fresh music, balancing a neat line between Toolroom itself and its relatively new sub label Toolroom Trax. The week’s lineup is certainly one that will get the blood flowing with upcomers Doorly, Weiss and Adrian Hour all WWD favourites as well as label head Knight who has unleashed a pair of weapons on the electronic community in recent weeks by the name Suzee and Get Down. It’s a solid bet that whatever time you drop into Blue Parrot this party will be going off!
Hot Creations @ La Santanera
Date: Jan 16th (Nighttime)
Lineup: Club – Mark Jenkyns, HNQO, Russ Yallop, + Special Guest
Terrace – Pleasure State (Live) , Anabel Englund (Live), Digitaria (Live), Denney + Special Guest
As you know we’re big fans of the Hot Creations boys and with a lineup like that how could you not be! Some big hitters in store for this Friday evening with plenty of special guests and a live performance from group of the moment Pleasure State (MK, Lee Foss + Anabel Englund) who have been in heavy circulation thanks to their new release Ghost In The System. Add in the fact that it was another landmark year for Hot Creations and this party has the potential to be one of the highlights in Playa Del Carmen.
Suara @ Tabu
Date: Jan 16th (Nighttime)
Lineup: Coyu, Edu Imbernon, Jay Lumen, Sonny Fodera and Ramiro Lopez
Sumptuous is the word. A top quality lineup from a label we have come to expect nothing less from. Since it’s inception the Spanish label has constantly turned heads thanks to the tireless work of it’s leader Coyu as well as it’s ability to pick out the brightest and best in the genres of house, tech and techno. Following a summer residency in Ibiza, expect all the kitties to be out in full force for this showcase. Also nice to see Sonny Fodera making an appearance, one of our tips for a big year in 2015.
Relief vs Cajual @ Blue Parrot Day Club
Date: Jan 17th (Daytime)
Lineup: Cajmere vs Green Velvet, Nicole Moudabar, Nathan Borato, Route 94, Doorly, Sonny Fodera + Gene Farris
This should be an interesting one, Cajual lines up against its offshoot Relief for what should be a hell of a party. With a stacked lineup as well as the promise of Cajmere vs Green Velvet (yes we are wondering how that one works) this promises to be a great kickstart to 2015 for a group that consistently impressed us last year. Something for everybody as BPM nears its end on Saturday.
