Oliver Marshak is an LA based artist with a distinct deep house sound, and plenty of personality in his productions. He started his 2025 by launching his own Reve Music label with the first release, ‘Out Of Here,’ and followed it up with another standout release on CamelPhat’s When Stars Align imprint, ‘FACE /NASTY’ EP. We caught up with him recently to find out what else is in store for him for the rest of 2025!
WWD: Hey Oliver! How was Christmas and New Year’s for you? Busy or a nice time to relax?
It was a mix of both! I started the year in Tulum, DJing at an amazing Amazon Prime event called Sonic Journey. The energy there was unreal and set the tone for 2025.
WWD: What goals, hopes, and dreams do you have for 2025?
This year, I’m focused on growing my new label Reve Music, touring, and creating more music. I want to keep pushing boundaries, collaborate with incredible artists, and make more tracks that bring energy and emotion to the dance floor.
WWD: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your new single ‘Out Of Here’?
Making “Out Of Here” was all about creating a groove that works anywhere: clubs, day parties, or even late night drives, so I hope everybody enjoys it 🙂
WWD: What was the motivation for starting your own label, Reve Music?
It started with my good friend, Hollywood film director and DJ/Producer, Ariel Vromen bringing up the idea to me, and Luciano Scalioni to create a label with no boundaries. The ethos is simple—deep, groovy house and techno music with emotion behind it that makes people dance. We want to give artists a space where they can express themselves and make tracks that hit hard on the dancefloor, but also have that groovy or fun vibe that sticks with you.
WWD: How did the remixes come about?
We picked remixers who could bring unique flavors to the track while keeping its essence intact. Each of them added something fresh, whether it’s late-night energy or melodic vibes, and I love how it all came together.
WWD: How important is the visual identity, and will there be merch, label parties, and so on down the line?
Visual identity is super important—it ties everything together. We’re planning some cool visuals and label parties for the near future. We want Reve Music to be more than just a label. It’s an experience.
WWD: What gear do you use to make your music, and does that matter to you?
I use a mix of analog gear like the Moog Sub 37, along with plugins like Omnisphere, Serum and UAD mixing plugins. Gear matters, but it’s really about using whatever tools you have to create something you and the people you share it with will love.
WWD: The track has a deep house foundation with late-night energy—what mood or scene were you envisioning while creating it?
I imagined a late-night dance floor, when the crowd is fully locked into the groove. It’s that perfect moment when time slows down, but the energy stays alive.
WWD: What was the most challenging part of producing this single, and how did you overcome it?
Finding the balance between high energy and while still keeping it chill and sexy was tricky. I wanted it to work on the dance floor but still have depth. It took time and a lot of tweaking to get the bassline and arrangement just right.
WWD: Can we expect more collaborations or remixes on future Reve Music releases?
Definitely! Collaborations and remixes will be a big part of the label’s releases. Keep your eyes peeled!
WWD: Finally, what’s next for you in 2025? Are there any upcoming projects or performances you’re excited about?
There’s a lot coming up! I have an EP dropping on CamelPhat’s label WSA on January 31st and I also have two collaborations with Vintage Culture coming soon. Plus, I’m looking forward to playing some exciting parties around the world. I believe it’s going to be a great year.
WWD: Sounds amazing! Congrats & thanks for the chat!
