In a scene often propelled by fast cycles and fleeting hype, Cook Strummer and Freudenthal move to a different rhythm, one shaped by patience, experience, and emotional intent. For more than a decade, both artists have been quietly influential in defining the emotional and sonic language of modern indie dance, each from their own distinct perspective. Their collaboration ‘Bon Voyage’ feels less like a crossover and more like a natural convergence.

At its core, ‘Bon Voyage’ is a departure record, emotional yet propulsive, intimate yet fully formed for late-night sound systems. Cook Strummer’s indie-leaning vocal performance brings narrative and vulnerability, hovering gently above a restrained but purposeful groove crafted by Freudenthal. The result is a track that lives comfortably between solitary listening and after-hours dancefloor reverie.

Where Cook Strummer contributes melody, songwriting, and human presence, Freudenthal provides structure, tension, and emotional discipline. Their chemistry is understated but intentional, reflecting a shared understanding that indie dance thrives on balance rather than excess.

That emotional core is preserved and reinterpreted across the release’s remix package. Among them, Far&High deliver a powerful, driving reinterpretation that we’re excited to premiere today. Their remix injects peak-time momentum and forward motion while carefully maintaining the sentiment that defines the original. It’s energetic without being overwhelming, designed for big moments while staying emotionally grounded.

Together with Lauer’s faster, nostalgia-tinged club version, the full package elevates ‘Bon Voyage’ beyond a single track. It becomes a long-form statement built for longevity, where songwriting meets club culture, and sensitivity moves in step with the dancefloor.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Far&High’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
