23 March 2026

On 27th March, Standard Time will host a special reunion as Black Loops and Intr0beatz return to Toronto for a long-awaited night with the city’s own House of Lords. Years after a memorable appearance together in 2019, the pair reconnect on the same bill for an evening rooted firmly in the deeper shades of house music.

For Reykjavík native Arsaell Thor Ingvason, the man behind Intr0beatz, the booking is another stop in a decades-long journey shaped by groove. First emerging from Iceland’s late ’90s hip-hop scene as a turntablist and beatmaker, his sound has evolved into a warm, soul-infused take on house music that draws from jazz, funk, and dusty sampler culture. Along the way he’s built a respected catalogue through labels including SlothBoogie, Stay True Sounds, Aterral and his own imprint Cosmic Angles, while helping shape Iceland’s modern house resurgence.

Ahead of the night in Toronto, Intr0beatz digs into his bag to share five trusted dancefloor weapons primed for the occasion.

Demuir – ‘Emotional Seasons’

I am a huge Demuir fan and there are so many tracks by him that I’ve used in my sets over the years that I could play, but this is the latest one that I’m really into these days, plus he’s from Toronto.

Byron The Aquarius – ‘I Be Like Dat’

This has worked pretty well in my sets at my local spot in Iceland, Kaffibarinn. The balanced between hypnotic groove and bass with the soulful chords can really take people on a journey.

Jon Sable,Kenny Sterling – ‘People Person’

Deep, soulful grooving track. Can’t miss this one!

MD X-Spress – ‘Tha Muzik’s Gettin’ Stronger’

I just love this one. The simplicity and the groove is just something I really love.

Dompe – ‘Lakeland’

Very driving track. Usually drop this around peek time, but you never know..

All these tracks are just what comes to mind. Maybe I won’t play any of them. Only one way to find out!

Tickets are available here.
