Alberto Ortega and Hector Tamez, better known as Chaty & Tamez, have come a long way since early outings on the likes of David Seaman’s Selador and Suruba Records. The pair have since graced labels like Sincopat, Union Jack, and Eklektisch all while building a strong reputation for quality. Chaty & Tamez’s latest effort arrives this month in the form of a 6 track EP on Anathema Records. The EP is titled ‘Fake Voices’ and it comes strapped with remixes by John Tejada, Several Definitions, and Anathema Records founders, Alerch & Fec.
Tejada, founder of seminal imprint Palette Recordings and also of Kompakt fame, turns in a splendid electronic experience, rendering a pulsating, near eight minute synth-driven epic. Riding on a snappy drum ensemble and coated with interweaving arpeggiators and assaulting low-end jabs, it’s truely a top notch edition. What’s more, you can check it out in full premiere only on When We Dip today.
