After a successful label debut back in 2016 Third Son now returns to Natura Sonoris with a brand new 2-track Delirium EP that´s full of eerie sonics and rich sub-tones. The UK musician keeps pushing his sound forward with his deft production techniques and unique approach, and this release is yet another proof of that as the package is exposing unseen surfaces and telling unheard stories. The lead track of the EP is an intense voyage full of attitude that shows Third Son´s studio mastery in complex polyrhythmic structures and merciless soundscapes. Its intricate celestial synths and pads, whirling percussions and chunky basslines create a hypnotic vortex of emotions allowing the track to take you on the irresistible path to the dark side. Menacing and devastating in equal measures, this monster tune is made for a big cavernous room. ´Eyeless In Gaza´, on the flip, slowly builds a wonderful atmospheric storyboard continuously increasing its tension. The main melody teases, as it plays over a punchy yet persistent beat, and together with all the harmonic textures, brooding slow-burning chords, subtle counter melodies and a rising synth line it makes the whole piece shimmer from left to right. This one is sure to ignite any space its played in. In producer´s true signature style, ´Delirium´ is an EP full of supremely intense atmospheres and relentless grooves. It´s an EP for those late, late hours, when the sky is at its darkest and the mood is at its most wicked.

WWD : Talk to us about this EP. How did it come about? Any particular inspiration behind it? What factors influenced the choice of Natura Sonoris as a home for it?
The title track came about after my last tour in Australia, originally named No Sleep in Melbourne. The title was terrible, but the premise of the track was to make something both dreamy and quite intense at the same time. Hence Delirium.
Natura just release what they want, without worrying about style or what particularly sells well on Beatport. If Henry likes it, they release it, which is honestly quite a rare thing these days.
WWD : This is your second appearance on Henry Saiz´s label. How did you get involved?
I’d been a fan of the label for a while, so I just sent some stuff there. After getting to know Henry and Anna (A&R) we made a decision on the first release.
WWD : How do you see your sound evolving, as a DJ and producer?
My tastes are fluid, and I like to think I’m evolving constantly. The music has to have a strong theme, but other than that contrast is interesting me at the moment.
WWD : In terms of your productions, what’s your favourite piece of kit that you own and why?
Arturia – Matrixbrute. It’s mental.
WWD : What else is there for Third Son in the pipeline?
A load of new music will be landing over the coming months. I’ll be focusing time on my Polymath imprint, which will be developing a core group of artists, and running label showcases. I’ve also been working with Dolby to develop an Atmos surround live set, which is pretty exciting.
